Card Sketch Tuesday #157

Good morning! Happy Tuesday! How about some windy swirls and snowflakes this week? Here is sketch #157 and measurements are below.

Card base = 5.5 x 4.25, Pink layer = 5.25 x 4, Blue layer = 5 x 3.75, Image layer = 3.25 x 2 1/8

Image is colored with Copic Ciao Markers in the following colors: R27, R29, B21, B24, C7 and out lined with C1. I also used a stardust pen to highlight the wind swirls and snowflakes.

The snowflakes are punched with a Martha Stewart craft punch and then spritzed with the Smooch Vanilla Shimmer to give it a bit of a snowy sparkly look. A light blue rhinestone was added to the center of each.

The blue panel was embossed using the new holiday line from Provo Craft that I purchased off of HSN. It came in a package of 6 and included two 5 x 7 folders. Doesn't it go perfect with this stamp?

Here's an up close look!
The MSC latice border punch was used on the bottom of the blue panel - I think this has to be my favorite border punch!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
Supplies:
Stamp - The Angel Company: winter flurries
Red cardstock - PTI
Blue cardstock - American Crafts
Martha Stewart punches - Lattice and snowflake
Smooch Vanilla Shimmer Spray
Copic Ciao Markers
Stardust gel pen
Light Blue rhinestones from Kaisercraft

Ornaments

Hello all! I've been busy working on a few projects for two different stamp companies and really haven't had time to update by blog! I've been asked again to design for the Stamp Of The Month for The Angel Company, so you will see that in January. I've also been asked to design a few cards for Victorine Originals for a few magazine publications. So, here's a quick card I did with both companies stamps!

The tree branch is stamped in Palette Jardin Moss and embossed with clear powder. The ornaments and the sentiment are stamped in versamark and then embossed with gold powder. The base of the card is white and covered with Reece paper from TAC, I also added a strip of the striped paper to the right side. Continuing with the gold theme I added a bunch of self adhesive gold dots to it. The trick is to get them on straight!!! So, what do you think?

By the way, I designed my new blog background using Photoshop Elements and free digi stuff I found on the web. Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps - tree branch = Victorine Originals. Ornaments and sentiment = The Angel Company.
Paper - White cardstock, Reece paper collection from TAC.
Gold and clear embossing powder
Gold self adhesive dots (Reflections)
Palette Jardin Moss
Versamark

Curvy

Hey all! Here's my card I completed for this weeks SCS sketch challenge, and what a challenge it was! We are so used to straight lines, and this is all about curves.

I used my flexible ruler and a craft knife to cut out the curvy designer paper. Sanded it down in several places to even it out and then I inked it up using pure poppy palette ink that matched the colors in the dp. Four mini brads are added to anchor the ends down.

The elf is colored with Copic Ciao Markers and I added a bit of crystal art glitter on his collar and trim of his coat.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends!

Supplies:
Stamps - Stampendous
Designer papers - Memory Box - Spiceberry, Kaisercraft (green) Scarlet jewel and white cardstock from PTI.
Mini brads

Card Sketch Tuesday #156

Happy Tuesday! Here is sketch #156, which measures the normal A2 size.

Measurements are as follows:
Card base = 4.25 x 5.5
Inside panel = 4 x 5.25
Bottom panel = 4 x 2.75
Ribbon panel = 4 x 1.5 (including the 1/16 border)
Image panel = 2.75 x 2.25 (part is hidden under the bottom panel)

This is actually my second card from this sketch. I did a snowman one earlier (you will see it around the 5th of December) and loved how it turned out and had to do it again.

The designer paper is from Making Memories called Greenhouse, which includes all the paper you see on the card except for the white cardstock.

The milk can stamp is from Art Impressions and is colored with Copic Ciao Markers. The get well greeting is from Papertrey, Ink. Ribbon is white twill tied onto the panel prior to adhering.

For those of you who do such a super job of leaving me comments on a consistent basis - Thank You! I do have to let you know that I had to reinstate comment moderation due to some robot postings recently. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Holly

Hello all! Just a quick post before I get busy doing weekend chores and finish my day job paperwork.

I used the new embossing folder from Provo craft called Holly - it's a 5 x 7 folder too! Papertrey ink pure poppy card stock is used as the base and then I pulled a strip of green out of my scraps folder to do the band. This folder is awesome and has a lot of possibilities!

The holly stamp is from The Angel Company and is colored with Copic Ciao Markers. Circle nestabilities, both regular and scalloped were used to frame it up. Just a quick and simple card, except for the time it takes to color the holly - LOL!

Have a great weekend!

For You

Hey all! I got a chance to play in this weeks SCS sketch challenge and here's my creation.

I decided NOT to use any Holiday stamps on this sketch (getting a littel burned out on them) and went with a generic use stamp.

I stamped the flower silhouette with versamark on vellum and embossed with glacier white embossing powder. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and also embossed with clear. Blue brads that match the designer paper anchor down the vellum and I curled up one corner of it to be creative.

We are expecting another wind storm (#3 this week) to hit us tonight and into tomorrow morning. But right now - the sun is out and I see blue sky! Have a great week!

Supplies:
Stamps - plant silhouette by Artful Inkables, sentiment by TAC
Designer paper - Making Memories
Light Blue Brads
White and navy blue cardstock

Card Sketch Tuesday #155

Hello everyone! Today and last night it's been raining hard and the we've had wind storm warnings posted several times! I sure hope those big tall evergreen's stay firmly planted in the ground!
Anyway, here is sketch #155. This measures the normal A2 size. The panels measure 1 1/2 x 5 and the square in the middle is 2".

I just got some Kaisercraft designer paper from HSN and thought that I had bought a variety pack. Nope, it's all the same! 10 pieces of two sided paper in each pack - this is called Dash a way all - Vixen. I like that it's different on both sides and pretty thick paper. I added a few red rhinestones to the corners of the papers.

The snowman stamp and the sentiment are from The Angel Company and they're retired. It was a limited edition stamp from a few years ago. I colored him with Copic Ciao markers and got a little creative with the B00 frost blue marker. I colored on a piece of plastic and then used my colorless blender to pick up the blue and blended it in the snowman body. With snowman being all white, I wanted to do a little shading and decided to play around a bit. I kind of like the ice blue effect I ended up with. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Angel Blog Hop

Hi eveyone! Welcome to our Angel Blog Hop - this time we had to produce and show off Holiday cards/tags that are done in 10 minutes or less. Here are my two cards.

Blue cardstock was used as the base of this card, with a white panel that was embossed using the swiss dot cuttlebug embossing folder. I used my deckled nestabilities to cut out the main panel and a layer of blue. The tag is also cut out using my nesties.

The stamps are rugged shadows (retired), ornamental snowflakes, and the sentiment is also a retired LE (Holiday) stamp. I stamped them all in Palette starry night ink. The shadows were stamped off once, by the way.

I used a stardust gel pen to outline the snowflake to give it some glitter and bling. The silver ribbon on the tag goes really well with this and adds a bit more bling! I did sponge around the tag with the same ink, as well.

This last one is super simple and quick, and subtle!

I used a dark blue cardstock base and a white layer that is stamped directly on and that's it, no additional layers. I reversed masked a labels 4 from my nesties collection and sponged on some Memento ink in summer sky. The sentiment is from the Simple Joys set and stamped in black. Again, Ornamental Snowflakes were used to stamp images on either side of the sentiment and highlighted with the stardust pen. I decided to use the Bind It All corner rounder on the corners of the white layer. Overall, this one is clean, simple and fast!

Here is a list of Angels participating in this blog hop! Please visit each and everyone because I'm sure that you'll get some great ideas for some quick cards and tags to use this Holiday season!

Christmas Cardinal

Hello everyone! I got the opportunity to design a few cards for Victorine Originals a few months ago. This is one of the images that I got to design with - perfect for Christmas!

The cardinal is colored with a variety of red Copic Markers. I also used the Copic's on the tree branch. In the above card: Designer paper is from Debbie Mumm, Burlap ribbon and burgandy cardstock from DCWV. All stamps from Victorine Originals.

The same coloring method was used on this card. The green designer paper is from Paper Pizazzz and the burgandy polka dots is from Victorine Originals, which can be downloaded. The button is from Oriental Trading Company, which is tied on with some scrappers floss. The sentiment is from The Angel Company.

You can find Victorine Originals store Here and her blog is here.

Hope you have a great weekend!!!

Card Sketch Tuesday #154

Happy Tuesday all! Here's sketch #154, measuring the nomral A2 size.

Here is my example.

The circle (Nestie) is 2 5/8 and then layered with another one at 2 3/4. The blue rectangle panel is 2 3/4 x 3 1/2 and the white rectangle is 2 1/2 x 3 1/4. I did add a layer of designer paper to the card base which measures 5 1/4 x 4.

I colored the girl with Copic Ciao Markers and then tried to add some shading by her feet to anchor her down. It didn't look good at all - so I ended up cutting her out and popping her up using foam tape. I cut out an oval and used that to reverse mask the white layer sponging Summer Sky ink from Memento around it - and then I just took it out to the corners from there.

I used some Atyou Spica pens to add some sparkle to the star, flame on the candle and her wings, but it does not show up all the well. I used a lemon and a clear one, but you can hardly even see it IRL. I know that these Spica pens are all the rage right now, but I have to say that I prefer the stardust pens for adding a bit of glitter and/or bling to my projects. I added some light blue Rhinestones to the circle to give it a bit more bling, since the Spica pens didn't work! LOL! BTW, I got the idea for this sketch as I was shutting off the lights downstairs to go to bed. The porch light was shining in my front door, which has that half moon leaded glass at the top. A light bulb went on - it's it funny how normal things can be a source of inspiration for us crafters?

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by! Check in next Monday when a few of us Angels will be participating in a Holiday cards/tags in 10 minutes or less blog hop! You're sure to get some great ideas for those last minute projects!

Supplies:
Stamps - TAC Fairy Birthday
Designer paper - Memory Box Dewfrost
White and Enchanted Evening cardstock - PTI
Light blue rhinestones - Kaisercraft
Copic Ciao Markers
Atyou Spica Pens
Memento inks - tuxedo black and summer sky

Silent Night

Hi everyone! Here's a card I completed for the "Clean and Simple" challenge over at Splitcoaststampers - and there is NO stamping on the front of this card! The challenge was to use White and one other color!

Shimmery paper is embossed with the new 5x7 snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder and used as the back ground for this card. The branch punch from Martha Stewart crafts was used on the same shimmery paper to make the tree.

I added a dusting of Perfect Pearls to the navy cardstock, which didn't picture well - but in real life it sparkles quite nicely. A satin bow ties this all together!

Shimmery paper is from Papertrey Ink and the Navy cardstock is from American Crafts.

Be back later with Tuesday's sketch challenge!

Blue Christmas #2

Hi everyone! Here is the second blue Christmas card I created with the Memory Box stamps.

Continuing with the Palette Starry night ink on white cardstock, I stamped the Christmas and the word collage side by side. I punched out a darker piece of blue cardstock with the lattice punch from Marth Stewart Crafts and then tied a white satin ribbon over it. All blue cardstock is from American Craft. This card is a quick one that can be mass produced pretty easily.

Well, I have to figure out this Tuesday's sketch challenge - have a couple of ideas - but nothing stamped out yet. See you then, and have a great day!

Blue Christmas

Hi everyone! Here's a Christmas card that I did about a month ago when I found the new holiday stamps from Memory Box. The set is called Snowy Eve and I've made up two samples for you to see. Here's the first one!

I stamped the Christmas and the script images in Starry Night Palette ink. Then sponged some faded jeans distress ink around the outside. The snowflakes on the left side are punched out (Martha Stewart) and glitter in dark blue, light blue and white was added. The designer paper in the back is a long ago retired Stampin Up (I think)! I also added a bit of sponging around the outside of it to give it some added definition. Pretty quick card that has lots of bling to it!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Holiday Lamp Post

Greetings! Here's my card from this weeks sketch challenge over at SCS.

It took me longer to figure out what to do with the corner pieces than it did to color the image! LOL! Stamp is from Great Impressions and colored with Copic markers - many of them! I added a bit of yellow glow to the outside of the lamp and blended it in with the colorless blender. Not sure if you can really see it in this picture, but in real life it looks pretty cool! I added some sparkles with a stardust pen on the snow throughout the image.

Designer paper is from Hot Off The Press (Christmas collection for card makers) and I ran the green corners through the Victorian embossing folder and popped them up with foam tape for a bit of dimension. Yellow card stock is from American Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Card Sketch Tuesday #153

Happy Tuesday! Here is sketch #153 which measures the normal A2 size.

How about a real quick one - not so many layers and easy to do with punches or Nestabilities?

Here you go! These precious owls are from The Angel Company called Be Square.

The owls are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored with Copic Ciao Markers. I used my circle and square nestabilitlites to cut out the images and the dark brown card stock that I used on each to layer.

I found the striped brown ribbon in my stash and added it on the top portion of the card. The sentiment is stamped in black directly on the kraft card base. Of course I always think to do this at the last minute and you never know when you'll muck it up. Thank goodness it came out, considering I had to piece the sentiment in the way you see it on the card. It's actually a one liner!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Supplies:
Stamps - TAC Be Square
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Kraft, white and dark brown card stock
Ribbon
Copic Ciao markers in shades: E31, E33 and E35
Nestabilities circle and square dies

Snowflake Season

Here's a real quick card I did for the clean and simple challenge over at SCS. This weeks challenge was based off of a sketch.

The designer paper is from my 2008 Christmas stash and I have no idea who makes it. It's embossed with snowflakes througout and all I have left is bits and pieces.

Snowflake stamp is from The Angel Company and is stamped in Palette Starry night that I stamped off once. I highlighted it with a stardust pen and added one light blue rhinestone in the center. The sentiment is from PTI as is the dark blue (enchanted evening) paper and grosgrain ribbon.

The label die is from Quickutz!

Be back in a little while for my Tuesday Card Sketch! Thanks for stopping by!
