With love

Hi everyone! I've got a really clean and simple card to show you today!

Stamps are from Verve. I inked up the heart in versafine ink and the heat embossed it with clear embossing powder so that I could color it with Copic's. I've gotten where I prefer to do this than use Memento ink any more. I 'm just not happy with the coverage I'm getting from it even after re-inking the pad several times! Anyways.....

I used the stitch border punch and then ran some red bakers twine through the holes. I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture but I added some tiny black pearls to each end of the black cardstock panel. Pure poppy cardstock used as a card base and to layer the circle. Used a bit of foam tape to pop up the heart circle to give it a bit of definition.

Just a reminder that you don't have to participate in the sketch challenge below to enter for the blog candy I'm giving away.  Just leave a comment and become a follower!

1000 post and some blog candy!

Hi everyone! I can't believe that this is my 1000 blog post! So, I think it's time to give away some blog candy!

But first, I've designed a sketch to celebrate! Here's the card I made for it.

I used the Wishing you set from Papertrey, Ink. Fresh ink from Impress in limeade and pink lemonade used to stamp the tulips. Sentiment is from Victorine Originals.  Vintage creme cardstock used for the base of the card. The die used is the rounded banner die from My Favorite Things, I also used the fishtail banner to cut out the sentiment.

Designer paper is from A*Muse Studio and the lime green cardstock is from Hot Off The Press. I had these tiny buttons in my eyelet/brad stash and thought they looked super cute on the sentiment panel! They are attached using glue dots.

So, here's the sketch.

So, to win the blog candy seen below (I'm sure I'll add a few more things to it) all you have to do is:

1. Leave a comment on this post.
2. Become a follower of my blog.

If you decide to play along with the sketch, you get entered in a second time!  Winner will be drawn randomly.

 Sketch entries:

Contest will close on 5/5/13. I look forward to seeing what you create with the sketch!

With gratitude - FMS #83

Hello everyone! I had a few minutes and whipped this card out for the Freshly made sketch #83.

Flower stamp is from A*Muse Studio and colored with Copic markers in BV13 and YG63. I spritzed the stamp after coloring with rubbing alcohol and then stamped it on white cardstock to get this water colored effect. Sentiment stamp is from Verve. Spellbinders long rectangle nesties used to cut the main panel out.

I used the same BV13 marker to color a strip of white grosgrain ribbon that I tied onto the middle of the flower panel.

The purple colors of cardstock are from Bazzill and the teeny tiny rhinestones were from my stash that were included in a card kit that I got a long time ago.

Poppies

Hi everyone! While on my way to Portland OR yesterday I noticed that the poppies are in bloom along the side of the freeway. Spring has finally arrived. So, with that in mind I decided to share this card I made a while ago that I hadn't gotten around to posting!

It's a sympathy card, so I kept it very clean and simple. This is a digi stamp that I printed off and colored with Copic's. Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

I did a bit of fussy cutting just to be a bit different and layered it onto navy cardstock with a yellow panel behind it to bring out the flowers. The card measures 5 x 5 square.

Bee-cuz

Hello everyone! Here's another card using a honeycomb embossing folder. This one is from Stampin Up!

The Bee and the sentiment are from The Angel Company who are no longer in business, however most of their inventory was purchased by Red Rubber Designs. The Bee is colored with yellow Copic markers.

The die that is used to cut out the Bee is from Verve and I dyed some seam binding using distress dyes to match the cardstock.

Scalloped die is from Lifestyle crafts and I used my corner rounder on the sentiment panel.  All cardstock is from Papertrey, Ink except for the yellow which is from Bazzill.

It looks like spring has finally arrived in the Pacific Northwest! Sunny all week with a high of over 70 predicted on Wednesday. That's a big deal for us in April!!!  Now where did I put those sunglasses? Thanks for stopping by!

Bon Voyage - Mojo Monday #289

Hello everyone! I got a chance to put together a card for this weeks Mojo sketch! It was fun playing around with this one. I left off the flower due to the nature of the card.

The sail boat is from Verve and colored with Copic's. The bon voyage stamp is an old one from the former Angel Company.

The white cardstock on the upper left is embossed using the plaid impression plate from PTI. The blue and yellow designer paper is from the bitty scrap pad from Provo Craft, which I've had forever! Pure poppy and enchanted evening cardstock used to layer and make the pennant. Blue pearls are from Queen&Co.

Thanks for stopping by and I'd love to hear what you think of this!

FMS82 - Green Quadrefoil

Greetings everyone! Here's my CAS take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #82.

I just picked up this quadrefoil template from The Crafters Workshop at my local stamping store.  I laid it over a piece of vintage cream cardstock and used Pear ink from Fresh Ink and a big sponge dauber to create the look of designer paper. I had a really hard time waiting for the ink to dry to finish up this card!

Sentiment is from Verve and stamped onto light green cardstock that almost matched the Pear ink color.  I used the vintage cabinet die (the smaller insert) from Tim Holtz Alterations on another piece of vintage cream cardstock and then turned it upside down. This allowed me to put the circle sentiment right where I wanted it.

The flower is left naked (no color) and I added a small yellow button to the center. Leaf punch from Martha Stewart Crafts used to cut out the leaves that I added behind the flower. Lastly, cream satin ribbon used at top and bottom.

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by!

Dragonfly

Hi everyone! If you've been following my blog for a while, you know that I'm very partial to dragonflies and have collected any stamp/die/punch I could get my hands on!

This one is from Prickley Pear and I bought the stamps and die that matches it. I used Fresh Ink in limeade to stamp the dragonfly and the decorative border above the birthday sentiment. I did cut the dragonfly out first, then stuck it on a piece of Post-it note (sticky side up) so it wouldn't move all over the place. That way it was easier to get the stamp to line up with the die cut. I used foam tape to pop it up onto the card base.

Birthday sentiment and decorative border stamps are from Papertrey, Ink. As are the white and black cardstock. Limeade cardstock is from Bazzill. Scallop die used is from Lifestyle Crafts.

Blue

Hello everyone! I usually only participate in one challenge at a time, but with this card I'm able to do three! Wow! Anyway, here is my card.

The sentiment and the Butterfly are from Verve. I paper pieced the butterfly using a piece of designer paper from my stash. I did heat emboss it so that it would shine a bit.

The embossing folder is one that I just picked up from Hobby Lobby called quadrefoil made by The Paper Studio. Blueberry cardstock is from PTI and the gingham paper is from A*Muse.

The butterfly and the oval are popped up using foam tape to give it a bit of dimension.

The challenges that this card is for are:
Flutter by Wednesdays
Verve April Diva Dare
Freshly made sketches

Miss you like crazy

Hi everyone! I had a few minutes to whip up a card for this weeks Mojo Monday. Here's the sketch.

As you can see I changed up the circle to a pennant and added the sentiment to that. I also rounded the opposite corners.

Sentiment stamp and the big pennant die are from Verve. The smaller pennant die is from MFT. Vintage cream cardstock from PTI is used as the card base and the sentiment panel.  Designer paper is from The Paper Studio. The goal pearls are from the Reflection line at M's.

Winter sunset

Hi everyone! Wow, what a week this has been! I can't wait for the weekend so I can get into the studio and create. The rainy weather should help there! I just got a few new stamps from Just For Fun and had fun playing with this one.

I stamped the image in Versafine ink and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Next, I dug out my sponge daubers and created the sunset with pink and yellow chalk inks from Studio G and summer sky from Memento.

As you can see the stamped image is pretty big, so I cut it into thirds and then layered it with black before attaching it to a white card base.

I think I need to add a few small birds in the branches to give it a bit more interest. Thanks for stopping by and have a creative weekend!

Take note

Hi everyone! Today's post is not a card...can you believe it? I was going through my supplies and came across a package of old Basic Grey undressed chipboard tags, the heavy duty ones. The price tag on them says $5.00, so you know they're old!  I hated to use one (hoarding again) but decided I could trace around it onto create a similar one out of thinner recycled chipboard. Here's what I did with it.

I used some designer paper from Hot Off The Press and covered it front and back. Then I added a block of white Post-it notes with some wide red liner tape, so that it would stick real good.

The "Take Note" stamp and die are from Papertrey, Ink and stamped with Navy ink from A*Muse Studio. I used some foam tape to pop it up on the tag.  Added some light blue rhinestones in the corner for some bling and a blue satin ribbon for the tie.  This now sits proudly on my desk and gets lots of use!

CAS birthday card

Hi everyone! Here's a very quick CAS birthday card that can be sent to anyone!

The birthday is a die available from Papertrey, Ink. I cut it out using lime green smooth cardstock. The happy sentiment comes from The Paper Studio clear stamps that I bought at Hobby Lobby. It's stamped onto a piece of sugar cookie cardstock from Bazzill and then layered with black. I added a bit of grosgrain ribbon to the left side to give it a bit of bling.

I did pop up the birthday cut out with some foam tape to give it a bit of definition. That's it, pretty simple and quick!

FMS #80 - Love you

Hi everyone! I found some energy last night and whipped up this CAS card for this weeks sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

The flower stamp is an oldie from Stampin Up! called Happy Harmony. I colored it with Copic markers and then spritzed it with rubbing Alcohol to stamp the image. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I used the fish tail die from My Favorite Things to cut it out and then layered it with Pure Poppy cardstock. The card is 5 x 5 square, so I used the big 5 x 7 dot embossing folder from Provo Craft to add a bit of texture.  Lastly, added some black satin ribbon to give this a classy look.

Gnome sweet gnome!

Hello!  Here's a card featuring some coloring with Copic's. I've been admiring this stamp from Paper Smooches for a while now and when I found out I could order it separately and not in the set - woo hoo! He's a big stamp tho....

You see, I just wanted Jerome because he's so darn cute! Sentiment is computer made and I used the fish tail dies from MFT to cut it out. I dug out a big brad to attached it to the side of the card and then pinched it up a bit.

Wood grain embossing folder used for the background and I added a bit of Vintage Photo distress ink to highlight the wood grain. The half round die is also from MFT and I sponged on the same distress ink around the edges. I like that he kind of looks like he's living in a tree and coming out of a mouse hole. I'd love to have a big size Jerome for my yard! LOL!

Just for you - Mojo Monday #287

Hi everyone! I put this together quickly since I already had the flowers stamped and cut out. It's been sitting in my "To Create With" spot on the side of my desk. So, when I saw this sketch this morning...well you know how it goes!

Stamps are from Verve. I colored the flowers with Memento markers and huffed on it to get the image I wanted.

The green and pink cardstock is from Paper Pizazz. The designer paper is from Making Memories that I've had in my paper stash forever. The green rhinestones and the blush pearls are from Kaisercraft. Lime green satin ribbon is from my stash of endless ribbon. I can't believe how well it matched the green cardstock!

Thanks for stopping by!
